I like the long, lean look of this bag. The cream colored leather is pebbled for texture and the gentle gathering adds softness. The simple logo medallion looks sharp and goes well with the over sized strap rings. I like it when a designer pays as much attention to the interior of a bag as the exterior. This one has a pretty black and white floral print lining and a 6″ zipper pocket as well as two patch pockets. Well-sized at 7″H x 11″L with a 13″ strap drop, the bag sells for $228.

There are no words to explain why I love this funky Marc by Marc Jacobs Color-Block Bag. Maybe it’s the slightly ’80s-esque vibe it exudes, or maybe it’s my favorite colors (pink and brown) working together so well. Or it could be that I’m not in the least bit phased by the fact that there’s a brown flap over a black purse What would normally look pretty off kilter elsewhere looks darned cute here. Available for $348 at Neiman Marcus.

A brightly colored handbag is a good way to add a touch of color to your fall wardrobe and there are lots of offerings this season in purples and reds. But sometimes you want something a bit more subtle and that’s where this tote comes in. In a cool ocean blue, the soft leather bag whispers instead of shouts. With wide double shoulder straps and a two exterior side pockets, it is a bag built for comfort and convenience. A gold-tone turnlock closure on the flap opens to a logo lining and and several more pockets. Measuring 5 ½ ” W x 10″ H X 6 D”, the bag sells for $448.

I am so impressed with Marc Jacobs’s latest offerings that I can’t help be a teeny bit worried about my bank account. Self-control? What’s that? It’s nonexistent when faced by MJ’s lovely Mercer Peet Leather Tote. This slouchy, supple purse is spacious and timeless - it’s going to be as stunning and relevant two years from now as it is today. That’s because Marc Jacobs doesn’t attach himself to anything too over-the-top or trendy, instead sticking with tried-and-true details that make subtle statements. From the always-luscious leather to the demure hardware to the dainty knotted handles, there’s nothing here that won’t stand the test of time. the purse is gorgeous in maple and black and available to pre-order for $1150 at Saks.

After a brief dalliance with Pierre Hardy, it looks as though Cameron Diaz has returned to her true love: Marc Jacobs (what, you were thinking JT?). And judging by this ultra-chic and sophisticated Marc Jacobs Venetia Bag, who can blame her? The gray leather purse looks fabulous with her slip dress (if a bit monochromatic), and it’s upscale without looking flashy or pretentious. I love the gold hardware on the two front pockets and the arrow-shaped buckles. Bonus: This handbag can go almost anywhere. Photo from PopSugar.com.

Messenger bags seldom interest me…unless of course they’re designed by Marc Jacobs and feature totally stylish art deco stones on the front. This Marc Jacobs Stones Joseph Messenger combines impeccable craftsmanship (just take a look at that beautiful soft grained leather, in black or bisque), a luxury aesthetic, practicality, and that elusive fashiony eccentricity. While the bag is stunning on its own, the stones give it style and personality. Heck, even if you can’t afford this baby perhaps you’ll be inspired to tack on some brooches to the purses you already own. $2,175 at Barneys.com

This tote caught my eye primarily for the luscious orange color. But color alone can’t justify the $1395 price tag, so what else does this bag offer besides a high-end label? The answer is - not much. Made from cotton linen and trimmed in orange leather, it’s a simple large tote like any other. I do like the way the top snaps in to adjust the width, but other than that and the detachable 45″ shoulder strap, it is rather unremarkable. Pretty color, though!

As soon as I saw this fabulous bag I just fell in love with it. It is the new Stam Patchwork bag from Marc Jacobs and it’s so luxurious and beautiful! It is made from cream leather in a patchwork style with a gold chain and gold hardware. The bag can be carried in the hand by the leather handle or can be placed over the shoulder using the longer gold chain.
