Fendi has undoubtedly made some bags that are extreme hits, and undoubtedly made some bags that show lack of ingenuity or design. I must admit on a pair of heels, placing a buckle is cute and looks great under jeans. But the Fendi Pebbled Leather Hobo Handbag is a major miss and shows a design fart from the House of Fendi. Overused and so-over, is the over sized buckle detail and closure. The pebbled leather usually can be pulled off for a casual appeal, but in this bag is is mis-matching when paired with patent trim and the patent buckle. I’m so over it. Via Saks for $1290.

I am not even here to advocate or not advocate this handbag and its use of animal fur. Rather I am here to question why a store like Barneys give an elementary description of a handbag that equates to the the down payment for a brand new BMW (or any other $44,000 car). Barneys New York advertises the highly pricey rendition of the Fendi Spy Fur Handbag as “The best selling spy bag updated for Fall in grey fur. With metallic silver woven leather handles and lining. 16″x10.5″x6″. Okay, thank you for your time and serious care in describing this handbag. Seriously? I end at this page realizing that all I have learned is that Barneys carries a grey fur Spy bag that is just like all the other Spy bags; except for the fact that it indeed has grey fur and costs over 4 times as much as the leather Spy’s. Love it, hate it, want to know more about it, want to puke on Fendi for using fur, this bag is available for a whopping via Barneys for $8,800.

I have probably told you all that I will stop talking about the Fendi Spy ten times now. I lied. Fendi realized what a huge fashion impact the Spy has been and won’t stop producing these bad boys. I’m not going to blame them; some of the Spy’s are to die for. Right now there are two new ones that I am torn between. Torn as in which one I like more. So I will leave it up to all of you to decide between the two beautiful beauties.

First there is the Fendi Floral Spy Satchel. This bag intertwines the ‘it’ color of spring and summer, white, with an intricate floral appliqués on front. Absolutely divine! The hardware is both golden and silver metal and there is a front flap for opening. The handle is the leather spy woven handle that we have seen every time. My heart, my eyes, my wallet…

Behind door number two, is the beautiful and subtle Fendi Metallic Spy Satchel. I would be a little less sure about this bag, but after seeing Kelly Osbourne carring it (yes, odd that I use her as a fashion icon right now) I am in love with this bag too. This spy bag is made with metallic gold/silver leather and shows off woven trim. Accented in golden hardware and metallic gold woven leather top handles, the bag shows of glitz and glam without over-doing it. Honestly, this bag has my attention so well. It could dress up any outfit and is so fun and flirty.

At this very moment my Spy is looking at me completely lost and embarrassed to be calling herself a Spy. Fendi has released a new Spy to the family and I would like to opt for Fendi to send the bag back. The Fendi Coated Crepe Satin Spy Bag looks like a raincoat with handles. This Spy shows off gaudy coated crepe satin with a circular floral print and a handwritten Fendi signature. The rest is the usual Spy specs we all know. But this bag… my eyes… my Spy is cringing in the corner.

Some of you may be sick of hearing about the Spy, but alas there is a new Spy hobo for you to check out. Actually, while I am a huge Spy fan (I still love my honey!!) this bag makes me go cross-eyed. The Fendi Striped Denim Spy Hobo explodes my occipital lobe with blue-and-white striped denim. You know when there are those black/white or black/red pattern posters, fun houses, etc and you swear you get queasy just looking at it? Well that is how I feel about this bag (from the picture at least, maybe it person it is ok). The hobo is accented with a white woven leather shoulder strap with the Spy thorn-like knots and a thin leather braid which encircles the bag to hold the shape. What I like even less is the contrasting orange topstitching that is said to add a Western feel to a bag that I don’t think should be Western. Let’s just say this bag completely does not do it for me. On the inside you will find nothing other than matching striped denim lining with an interior patch pocket. Overall dimensions are 16″ x 10″ x 3.25″

I get emails constantly about where someone can find a Spy bag; and today I have an answer. Expensive or not, I am a sucker for exotics. I never quite realized that not every part of the country (and the world for that matter) had lizards. I can still vividly remember my brothers catching lizards and hanging them from their ears. Sounds crazy, I know, but it surely did happen and it was the cool thing to do if you were a boy in Florida. While this clutch is not made from the ear-hanging lizards I grew up around, it is made from a karung lizard. The Fendi Karung Borderline Clutch intertwines black and grey karung lizard leather which is offset by bronze leather piping. While Noriko says that she has mixed feelings about the clutch, I find my feelings to be going towards a total Yay. The bag is an exotic beauty. The structured shape is closes with a clasp of granular golden metal with a double F pattern and crystal encrusted silver metal. That may sound over the top, but it really is not. On the inside there is divine sea green satin lining with a patch pocket. Noriko, I think you should jump off the not so sure line to the sure side for this clutch! I love it! The dimensions are 8″ x 4.25″ x 1.75″ and this bag can be purchased for an overly exorbitant price of$2480.
