Misha Barton’s gorgeous Chanel Classic Charms 2.55 Quilted Bag at the 60th International Cannes Film Festival

Chanel Classic Charms 2.55 Quilted Bag

Just after I eyed Paris Hilton’s silver metallic 2.55, Mischa Barton’s gorgeous black charm version makes an appearance on the runway! Mischa looks fantastic in that pale silk and the golden charms that drape across her back. Her accessories are black from head to toe (literally – I’m sure thats the highly covetable Chanel Black Satin nail polish she’s sporting), including gorgeous black pumps and of course, the Chanel 2.55. Her version boasts delicate Chanel charms nested between the signature quilting, and a slide latch clasp.

Click on the jump for close ups of the 2.55, and for a strange alternate version thats being touted on the Chanel website.

Check out the beautiful glittering Chanel logos integrated in the lambskin. Its a wonderful touch of glam for the red carpet – but if ever going to get my own 2.55, I think it might be too much for repeated use.

Here’s an alternate Chanel Charms version that you can see on the Chanel website. Ehhh, I don’t know about this one!

Paris Hilton’s silver metallic Chanel Classic 2.55 Quilted Bag

Paris Hiltonsilver metallic Chanel Classic 2.55 Quilted Bag

Chanel bags are notoriously difficult to find online, and Bag Borrow or Steal is about as close as you’ll ever get to mouse-clicking your way this particular one. Toted all over the place, from red carpet events to quick lunches at the Ivy and grocery store trips, the Chanel Classic 2.55 Quilted Bag is a must-have bauble for any It Bag collector. In particular, the metallic silver as seen on Paris at is an especially worthwhile investment – hey, if you’re going to spend big bucks, you want to be able to take it to the most glam of places! Bag Borrow or Steal has this baby available for US$120 a week. I’m not a huge proponent of renting handbags, but if you must have it, even for a little while, here it is.

Chanel ‘Naked’ Shopper

Chanel 'Naked' Shopper

It may have the intertwined Cs and the signature chain straps, but is this piece of PVC nothing more than a glorified plastic bag? Am I missing the point? I would love to own a Chanel bag, and at my current rate of saving this will not be anytime soon. However at $950, I would hope to get more than this. If you are brave enough to display the contents of your bag from loose change, make up and snotty old tissues to the world, and have the money to spare, then by all means go ahead, you are braver (and richer) than me. You can pick this shopper up direct from Chanel or you can borrow it from Bag, Borrow or Steal for $75 a week.

Chanel’s round patent clutch

Chanel's round patent clutch

Now, when I first saw this Chanel bag in the picture on the left, I thought it was two bags in one. Oh, I thought, that’s a nice idea – a gold disc that fits inside a patent disc. Then I saw the picture on the right and realised that it was actually two disc shapes stuck together to make one weird gold-patent hybrid. Hmm. Maybe not then. If you like the odd shape then you’d better get saving, because it will set you back a heart attack-inducing £1860!

Jimmy Choo Ramona Tote

There is something so sultry and sexy about the color red. While red lipstick looks completely awful on me, a red bag suits me perfectly. My next red bag will be some sort of small Chanel (either 2.55 or clutch) but if you are looking for something a little bigger, more rich in color, yet still sexy, check out this Jimmy Choo. The Jimmy Choo Ramona Tote shows off a deep rouge color with gold hardware and large eyelets across the top with a thick strap threaded through. I love the laid back look of this bag, completely easy to wear everyday in a color that means business. A signature clasp on the front secures the threaded strap. My favorite lining for a bag, suede, is found on the inside and trimmed in lilac. I love my Rouge Paddington, but this oversized tote is another great option. Expensive, but sexy via Net A Porter for $2800.
