Rachel Roy’s Favs: Chanel Purse & Miu Miu Bag
Cutie fashion designer Rachel Roy is in the latest Allure magazine for this up-and-coming month of September, in a full-page display on page 190 where she reveals her fashion as well as beauty picks for autumn. And of course, being the bag-obsessed woman I am, my eyes fixed onto her latest must-have purse choices: the Chanel quilted canvas with goatskin trim and pearls beading around the border & the Miu Miu grey ostrich flap over handbag with gold hardware.

Give a girl an Emmy and her fashion sense instantly improves. Well, her taste in designer handbags, anyway. Katherine Heigl, who’s made some purse blunders in the past, took a step in the right direction by showing off this fabulous black quilted Chanel Caviar Tote with a metallic chain strap and a stitched double C logo. This is a favorite starlet “it” bag and it’s nice to see Katherine stepping up her game. Hopefully next time she’ll wear her Chanel with something a little less casual.

Not that anyone would need a lesson in style on the set of Sex and the City – especially not someone playing Carrie Bradshaw’s assistant – but perhaps we could pause for a sec anyway to examine the lovely Jennifer Hudson. She’s looking good as usual, save for…well, most of that outfit. I’m trying to divert my attention from the foul boots, but then I’m drawn to that purse. And that purse ain’t pretty. Usually Chanel can be relied on to save the day in a disastrous moment, but that doesn’t seem to apply to the line’s new Tweed Flap Bag, which features a clearly disastrous combination of fringe and embroidered pearl piping. Fortunately this isn’t real life – Jennifer doesn’t need any more fashion faux pas after the python bolero incident at the Oscars, does she?
