I hadn’t loved any of the new Louis Vuitton purses for quite awhile, but that all changed when I laid eyes on the Eva Clutch. The design is inspired by one of my favorite models Eva Herzigova. I’m not sure if “inspired by” means she took part in it’s conception, or if by looking at her perfect face someone was inspired to make it…either way this dainty bag is getting my vote for must have Louis of 2008. The clever removable straps allow you to carry it three different ways, using the short chain on your shoulder, using the long strap on your shoulder (which leaves the chain hanging as a decoration), or using the chain around your wrist as a pouchette. I love love love this bag! The Eva Clutch is available online and in select stores (it’s selling out quickly, so get on a list) for $530, not bad as far as Louis go.

This rather unusual-looking purse is the Leopard Chateau Clutch from L.A.M.B, Gwen Stefani’s oh-so-hip fashion label.

The reason this purse is being featured is that every once in a while, ArmCandyGirl likes to shake things up a little by featuring a bag that not everyone is likely to, shall we say… appreciate.

So what’s nice about this clutch, then? Just for starters, it has a secure magnetic buckle… and then there’s the removable chain… and of course we can’t forget the gold hardware and lovely leather trim.

The leopard design itself is very fresh and unusual — all in all this is a very unique and daring way to greet the Spring.

Who was it that said “less is more,” or to rephrase, that “more is just more?” Whomever it was, word does not seem to have reached the bag design team at Marc Jacobs and now Chloe. While Marc seemingly did the impossible and created something truly garish in his ‘bag on a bag’ um, bag, Chloe just tossed a lot of flap/buckle clasps onto this clutch.

Furthermore, while Marc could at least make the excuse that his bag’s appendages are at least functional for organisational purposes, I’m not quite sure what the extra Chloe clasps accomplish. They aren’t going to keep out a diligent pickpocket; they’re not even placed to do so.

I would have loved to see this Chloe clutch done totally in the fuschia (as we all know brights are in!) with just one centered leather buckle, or the body of the bag could have been kept white with the folded over bit done in this bubbly pink. But as it is, this clutch looks like it is covered in buckle growths. Ick.

Also, is it just me or are the leather buckles oddly reminiscent of a toned down B. Fendi buckle …

Some more amazing bright coloured clutch purses have come to my attention and this time they are Prada. I have not always caught on to the Prada style, I often follow smaller designers or vintage stores but I am in awe at Prada’s spring/summer collection. Florals and bright colours … perfect!

The clutch in question is the Prada Nappa Clutch with asymmetrical motif and polished steel hardware. Available in five different colours, papaya, peony, violet, black and turquoise the cute clutch is fabulous for summer and ideally it would be great to have all of them in each colour. However at £545 each I guess it will stay a dream for me.

Another bright and beautiful bag has caught my attention, the Airliner Leather Clutch from Marc by Marc Jacobs. Striking colours not only make a statement they make an outfit.

Clutch bags are the perfect accessory for an evening out, not to big to cause drama through tight spaces in bars and clubs and not to big to small so that you can fit the well needed cell phone, cards and cash, keys, mascara and lippy. This turquoise leather fold over clutch is just the ticket. Paired with a lovely white top and blue skinny jeans would make your look fabulous but that’s just one idea.
