Dolce & Gabbana Crinkled Patent Bowling Bag

What do you get when you mix Dolce & Gabbana with “The Big Lebowski”? This fierce and fashion-forward Crinkled Patent Bowling Bag. I love this purse’s hip appeal and the unique and edgy texture created by the crinkled patent. The bad-ass rocker vibe is reinforced by the thick silver chain link shoulder strap and the sturdy squared-off handles that remind me of a gangster carrying a briefcase full of money. On top of the style factor, the purse is also roomy and as practical as a pricey Dolce & Gabbana handbag can be. Score! $1,090 at eLuxury.com

Marni Feathered Evening Bag, Handbag of the Day

Feathers may be all over the runways this fall, but too much of a good thing can make one a little birdish. I think this bag strikes a nice balance with a wispy row of pink and grey rooster feathers against a soft grey satin.

A panel of dark grey latex is accented with a Swarovski crystal adorned latch and the wide leather and nylon strap is fortunately detachable. Inside, the bag is lined in silk raso and features one leather trimmed pocket. The clutch measures 10.5 x 10.5 x 1.6 x 5.5 and sells for $1100.

Thomas Wylde Fairground Tote, Handbag of the Day

I think the skull trend should be just about over by now, but with Halloween approaching, it seems appropriate to spotlight a ghoulish bag. From a distance, you might not even recognize the dead heads all over this canvas bag. But you will notice the proliferation of gunmetal logos tags hanging from every possible location. By my count, there are five -including a stationary one on the front pocket. For me, that is about three too many. I do like the numerous pockets - a zippered front pocket, two patch pockets on the sides and another on the back. The rolled patent leather handles have a 5.5″ drop and inside the bag is lined in skull logo canvas and features a patent-trimmed zip pocket, patch and cell phone pockets. Even the bottom of this bag gets special treatment with patent leather and protective metal feet. As skull bags go, this one isn’t too bad. $990.

A brightly colored handbag is a good way to add a touch of color to your fall wardrobe and there are lots of offerings this season in purples and reds. Tarina Tarantino Hardcore Minibox Clutch, Handbag of the Day

Many of Tarina Tarantino’s handbags look like they were designed to be carried by children. Featuring Barbie, Hello Kitty and lots of quirky touches, the bags are playful and unique. This metallic clutch may be a little more grown up, but it still offers that little something different. A limited edition, the gold and silver leather clutch sports a very large Swarovski crystal embellishment right in the center of a big silver bow that doubles as a hand strap. Or you can carry the bag from a crystal-studded lucite bangle attached to a 10.75″ long gold-tone chain. Now, that is different. The bag measures 5.75″ wide, 4.25″ tall, and 1.75″ deep and is also available in a neon pink and white version. $465.

Vanessa Bruno Suede Shirred Bag, Handbag of the Day

I love the slouchy and casual look of this bag. Dark olive suede is gathered through double strips of leather, adding to the slouch factor and creating roomy pockets on both sides of the bag. With just a touch of metal in the small buckle details on the sides and handle, the bag secures with a hidden magnetic closure. Inside, it is lined in similarly colored cotton and has a large main compartment with one zip and two slide pockets. $615.00

Furla Frede Bug Shape Bag, Handbag of the Day

Posted Oct 21st 2007 5:02PM by Sandy Maple

At first glance, this domed-shape bag doesn’t really stand out. The details are spare and there is very little hardware to catch the eye. But maybe that is what makes it the ideal bag for every day use. With barely-there contrasting top stitching, the rolled leather handles attach to the bag as if they grew there. Softly gathered leather gives a feminine look and the light tan color goes with just about anything. With the logo embossed discreetly between the handles, the wide zippered closure gives full access to the interior, which is lined in logo fabric and features zip and cell phone pockets. Get it at Harrods for £355.00.
