Perla Lichi, better known for designing the interiors of upscale homes and hotels around the world, is now channeling her creativity in a new direction: handbags. She recently launched her new line of hand-knitted bags featuring crystals, ribbons, feathers, jewelry and even venetian masks. Here are two – the Harlequin and the citrus-hued Decor Princess. Both are typical of the line, showcasing streamers of colorful ribbons and rigid beaded handles. Lichi’s unique bags come with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the designer herself. And if you don’t see one you like, she will create a custom bag just for you. $295.

Prada Ombre Large Boston Bag, Handbag of the Day

It may not be the most practical way to spend $1000, but at Luxist we are not about being practical – we are about luxury! And the Prada Ombre Large Boston Bag is not only super luxe but gorgeous as well. Made of pigskin, the ivory and dark tones are visually captivating while the minimalist design adds an air of mystery and elegance. And not to knock it, but it can be a refreshing change when a bag is not plastered with logos or a brightly colored design. Personally, I am a fan of all bags that grab and keep my attention. The leather double handles measures at 19″ and has a 7″ drop. Prada’s understated Boston Bag is perfect for your next jet setting weekend plans. Dimensions: 15¾ ” wide x 11¼” tall x 6¾” deep. Price: $1036.

Tagua Sobre Wool and Croc Clutch, Handbag of the Day

I like the purple croc and I like the hand-woven geometric print, but together they seem completely mismatched. Perhaps this is what the designer was going for, but to me the clutch looks like it was cobbled together from leftover purse parts. At least the purple satin interior seems to be on the right bag. $415.

Juicy Couture Maggie Charm Tote, Handbag of the Day

I don’t usually go for Juicy bags as they tend to look a little young for me, but this one is rather sedate. It has just enough accessories to avoid being boring and is large enough to tote a weekend’s worth of necessities. If there is one feature that makes it noteworthy, it is the wooden block charm which adds a nice, earthy feel. It wouldn’t be Juicy without the chain and logo heart charm, which is uncharacteristically understated. It has a magnetic closure on the main compartment and the lined interior features a 6 inch zipper pocket as well as two accessory pockets. Also available in chocolate. $350.

VBH Velvet Envelope Clutch, Handbag of the Day

This appropriately named bag looks like something I would like to get in the mail. Soft silver velvet folds into a sleek envelope that is just perfect for a special evening out. The gray stitching adds a little texture without distracting from the clean lines and the three silver beads add just a touch of sparkle. Inside, the bag is lined in gray suede and features a gold numbered edition plaque. $660.
