Perla Lichi, better known for designing the interiors of upscale homes and hotels around the world, is now channeling her creativity in a new direction: handbags. She recently launched her new line of hand-knitted bags featuring crystals, ribbons, feathers, jewelry and even venetian masks. Here are two - the Harlequin and the citrus-hued Decor Princess. Both are typical of the line, showcasing streamers of colorful ribbons and rigid beaded handles. Lichi’s unique bags come with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the designer herself. And if you don’t see one you like, she will create a custom bag just for you. $295.

The Paige Collection is one of my favorite accessory lines from Cole Haan. I find that particular line to have timeless appeal while still reflecting the trends of today. Made of leather with hand crochet leather detailing, the Paige Crochet Clutch emanates the balance of sophistication with everyday casual use. Who says you have to lug around a over-sized tote to be fashionable? The summer is being on the go, soaking up the sun and not having to carry around so much stuff. Here comes yet another way to tote around the Moet. This time the Champagne company has commissioned designer Alice Temperley to create a Moet & Chandon picnic bag. Temperley’s bag is a metallic canvas carryall with a detachable champagne carrier. The bag will cost around £950 and be available at Temperley London stores from September 1 on.

Mixing all that is trendy together in one bag, this little denim purse is cute and casual. I love the faded blue against the dark calf leather trim and the chain strap and over-sized clip closure dresses things up just enough. It is pretty on the outside and simple on the inside with just a single zip pocket. I absolutely love the color of this bag. It’s available in black and cream, but this deep red really makes the gold tone hardware pop. The oversized buckles are decorative as the bag secures with a simple snap flap closure. The 9 1/2 inch chain link strap is well-designed with a comfortable leather strip where it rests on your shoulders. If it is simple and classic you are looking for, this is your bag. $325.

No need for bight colors or flashy hardware here. This one is all about texture, with ostrich, lizard and linen coexisting nicely in this chic little clutch. An oxidized silver clasp frames a beautifully simple faceted black onyx on the outer flap. Underneath is another flap pocket and open access to the interior of the bag, which is lined and has one zippered pocket. The clutch converts easily to a shoulder bag with two clips hidden discreetly under the flap. Cool sophistication such as this does not come cheap. $1995.
